St Liborius School was established in 1920 and run by the Sisters of St Joseph. The sisters of St Joseph continued to teach at St Liborius until they withdrew from the parish in 1978 and the first lay principal was appointed.
The school remained under the governing authority of the parish with the Parish Priest as Administrator until the establishment of Catholic Education Sandhurst Ltd (CES) in 2021 as the governing authority for diocesan schools in the Sandhurst Diocese.
In accord with the school's Catholic character and the constitution and policies of CES, St Liborius School and Parish continue to enjoy a strong collaborative relationship in the work of promoting and celebrating the Catholic Faith in Eaglehawk.
