We recently welcomed Bishop Shane Mackinlay to our parish for his episcopal visitation from July 31st to August 4th. We were a pilot parish for the new Parish Visitation Program established in the Diocese. It was wonderful to have Bishop Shane visit our communities over several days and a very helpful process for reflecting on our mission as a parish.
From the Parish Visitation Program Guide:
The principal purpose of such visits is pastoral in nature, allowing the bishop to meet with and encourage the priests and the faithful. It is also intended to be an invitation to priests and the lay faithful to engage in purposeful reflection and pastoral planning.
